TALKING A GOOD GAME
Sadly this breathtaking, nail-biting and completely unforgettable season must come to an end. Here are some of the best quotes from a sensational year. Roll on August 9 when the new season kicks off again!
"That wife of mine just bullies me. She throws me out of the door at seven o'clock every morning! So that's a definite no. I dare not risk the wrath of that lass from the Gorbals."
Sir Alex Ferguson cites his wife as the reason why he is unlikely to be retiring anytime soon.
"It must be necessary for a player to bring out a gun and shoot one of our men in the box for us to get a penalty."

?I wouldn?t put my house on it. I?ve worked too hard over 35 years to get a house.?
Gordon Strachan on Celtic?s chances of beating Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the Champions League.
?No matter how many times I look at my bench there is just no Thierry Henry sitting there.?
Craig Levein reveals the problems of being the Dundee United manager.
WHAT A WEEK OF FOOTBALL
The football season truly went out with a bang this year. A dramatic Champions League final on Tuesday night between Chelsea and Manchester United required penalties to eventually separate the sides. Only the most diehard United fan could not have felt sorry for Chelsea captain John Terry when he missed his spot-kick.
The following night the SPL championship was decided in another thrilling climax. At half-time of the final set of fixtures it was uncertain if it would be Celtic or Rangers that would clinch the title. However Aberdeen?s impressive 2-0 win against Walter Smith?s men, along with Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink?s winner for the Hoops meant it would be a third successive title for the Parkhead club.
On Saturday Queen of the South almost recorded one of the biggest cup shocks of all-time against Rangers. The Doonhamers fought back from 2-0 down to get back on level terms but Kris Boyd?s winner after 71 minutes was enough to give Rangers their second piece of silverware this season.
GRANT DISMISSED BY RUTHLESS ROMAN
Chelsea sacked manager Avram Grant at the weekend after only eight months in charge. The Israeli took Chelsea to the first Champions League final in their history and was only defeated in his quest for the Premier League title on the final day of the season. However owner Roman Abramovich does not settle for second place and Frank Rijkaard is now favourite to be in charge of the club next term as the Russian billionaire looks for some more trophies in return for the millions he has invested in the club.
